Granville T. Freeman III,
LPC, CPCS, BC-TMH, CCTP, CGP

Recognizing every small achievement is essential to continued growth. Often times we allow the achievements to be overshadowed by the weight of the world. Our goal is to assist you in coping with that weight and using the skills you already possess to navigate this ever changing world. We are all stronger than we realize and more capable than we give ourselves credit for.

Our differences are to be respected and our life experiences should be valued. Not allowing either to control our future is key. If you are reading this, you've already made a phenomenal move towards doing just that...one step at a time.

As an emerging play therapist, I utilize a unique blend of Adlerian Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Integrated Experiential Therapy to address matters ranging from sexual abuse to LGBTQQIAP+ issues to anxiety/stress management. My experience spans a variety of environments, including: private and public schools, non-profits, and most recently the Graduate Marietta Student Success Center where I had the pleasure of serving teenagers through graduation.

I specialize in working with children and adolescents ranging in age from 3 to 18 and take pride in providing my clients with a safe and judgement free zone in which to foster growth and positive change.

With a background in nursing spanning seven years, I merged my medical expertise with a focus on mental wellbeing, mental health, diet, exercise, and personal expectations. As the founder of "Shape My World Inc," a nonprofit providing targeted support to minority families, I explore the intricate links between diet, exercise, behaviors, and family dynamics.

Over the past 9 years, I've served as a professional school counselor, addressing pressing needs within surrounding school districts. Committed to fostering change, I also mentor and teach incoming school counselors at the master's level.

Specializing in mind and body wellness, women's wellbeing concerns, depression, and relational dynamics, I offer a holistic approach to therapy. My aim is to empower clients to take ownership of their actions, fostering positive changes for long-term contentment. I believe in the potential of all individuals and families to achieve realistic goals, leading to fulfilling and productive lives.

In therapy, we work collaboratively to understand your concerns and develop a plan to address them. My emphasis is on personal empowerment, guiding you to discover strengths, acknowledge abilities, and gain a sense of control as you experience growth. My areas of special interest include Mind and Body Wellness, Women's Wellbeing Concerns, Depression, Relational Dynamics, and Couples Communication.

Utilizing Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Reality Therapy (RT), I approach therapy in a trauma-informed manner. Additionally, I draw insights from positive psychology and compassion-focused approaches to create a comprehensive and tailored therapeutic experience for you.

Let's embark on this journey together towards self-discovery, growth, and positive transformation.

Life’s journey is not always easy.  It can be filled with many changes which may bring on doubt, fear, anxiety and depression. Experiencing these emotions may leave you feeling as though you are alone. My goal is to create a safe space where these feelings can be processed. I would like the opportunity to join you alongside your journey, to help guide and reassure you that you do have the capabilities and strengths to work through any situation that comes your way. I intend to create a warm and genuine environment that encourages the growth of a healthy relationship that will carefully navigate through your personal beliefs and values.

Clients from all walks of life are welcome. Especially young adults from communities that are marginalized within our society such as: African American, Latino, and LGBTQ. Together we will navigate through each individual’s circumstances, internally and externally. From a strength based prospective that promotes inner healing, self-compassion and self-confidence, we will overcome all.
